Put a deal on Ashe’s Pass
thingstodoavl.com — things to do in Asheville, with a paid pass for deals, picks and when-to-go.
Ashe’s Pass puts a paying visitor at your bar with their phone out. They bought a 3, 5 or 30-day pass to find the local version of Asheville — the deals, the picks, when to go. Your deal is one of the things they paid for. It costs you nothing until someone is already standing at your counter.
How it works
- You pick the deal. Something small, specific and off-peak — one line your staff can say back to a customer.
- It goes on the pass. Members see your name, the offer, the terms, your address with a map link and your phone number. You’re also on the free side of Ask Ashe: your venue page, your events.
- They show the screen. The pass has a live clock and an ID on it, so a screenshot doesn’t pass. No vouchers, no codes, nothing to install at the register.
- You stay in control. Set the days and hours. Change it, pause it or pull it with one email. No contract, no fee.
What a good deal looks like
- $1 off your first pint, Monday–Thursday
- Free refill with any pastry
- 10% off food before 6pm
- A free side with any entrée, Sunday–Wednesday
- $5 off a tasting flight
- No cover on weeknights
The pattern: a real but small discount, on the days you’d like more people in the room, honored once per pass per day. Members are already out — the deal just decides where.

Questions
Is there a fee?
No. Listing a deal is free and stays free. Sponsorships (your name on the “this weekend” list, a category or a guide) are separate and optional — see sponsor options.
How do my staff know it’s real?
The pass screen shows the tier, the dates it’s valid, a pass ID and a clock running in real time. If the clock isn’t moving, it’s a screenshot. If a deal is ever misused, email us and we’ll void that pass.
How many people have the pass?
It launches with a founding group of partners and the Ask Ashe email list first, then on the site. Early partners are in every version of the pass from day one.
Can I change or end the deal?
Any time — email hello@thingstodoavl.com and it changes at the next site rebuild, which happens three times a day.
We’re outside Asheville — can we still be on it?
Ask Ashe covers Buncombe County: Asheville, Black Mountain, Weaverville, Woodfin, Swannanoa, Montreat, Arden, plus Sierra Nevada in Mills River. If that’s you, yes.
